American Masters

“American Masters” will highlight some of the masterworks by American composers. Bernstein’s ubiquitous Overture to Candide, Gershwin’s charming Rhapsody in Blue (performed by Ecuadorian pianist, Wilson Alvarez), Aaron Copland’s film score dedicated to Leonard Bernstein, and Grofé’s picturesque orchestral suite describing our geographical wonder will be performed. The evening will also include a performance of “Raven,” an original work by local, award-winning songwriter, Beth Whitney. The song will feature her husband, Aaron Fishburn, on upright bass as well as a stunning video backdrop by Voortex Productions. Symphony orchestrations for “Raven” arranged by Blair Borland.
