Wenatchee World: Indie-rock band Ivan & Alyosha to play with Wenatchee Valley Symphony Orchestra

By Jessica Drake

Ivan & Alyosha, an indie-rock band from Seattle since 2007, arranged its greatest hits for a symphony orchestra. The duo of Tim Wilson and Ryan Carbary will sing and play with the Wenatchee Valley Symphony Orchestra for the opening concert of the season.

The concert is at Numerica Performing Arts Center, 123 N. Wenatchee Ave., Wenatchee, at 7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets cost $20-$60 online at numericapac.org. A live-streamed video ticket costs $25.

“These things take time. When you put 100 people on stage together, the stars have to align,” Wilson said of large collaborations.

Ivan & Alyosha collaborated with the Seattle Symphony in March 2021 with arrangements by composer Andrew Joslyn. A documentary film of the concert live at Benaroya Hall was recorded and released, along with a live album, in July 2022.
